About the Currency Converter

Convert any amount between more than 150 currencies — US dollars, euros, pounds, Australian and New Zealand dollars, yen, yuan, rupees, dirhams, riyals and many more.

Rates come from an independent exchange-rate data provider and are refreshed regularly; the time of the last update is shown with every conversion.

How does the Currency Converter work?

All rates are quoted against the US dollar, so converting between any two currencies uses a cross rate: amount × (rate of the target currency ÷ rate of the source currency).

Frequently asked questions

Why is my bank’s rate different?

These are mid-market reference rates. Banks, card providers and exchange counters add a margin and sometimes fees, so you’ll usually receive a little less.

How often are rates updated?

Rates are refreshed from the provider at least daily and cached for up to an hour. The “last updated” time shows when the provider published them.

Can I use these rates for accounting or tax?

They’re for information only. For official purposes use the rates your tax authority or bank specifies.
