About the Spin the Wheel — Random Name Picker

Spin the wheel to pick a name, a prize, a task or a dinner idea at random. Type one entry per line, press Spin and the wheel lands on the winner.

Teachers use it to choose who answers next, streamers and shops for giveaways, and families to settle who does the dishes. Tick “Remove the winner” to draw everyone in turn without repeats.

How does the Spin the Wheel — Random Name Picker work?

When you press Spin, the winner is drawn first with your browser’s cryptographically secure random generator, so every entry has exactly the same chance. The wheel then turns to land on that entry — the animation is for show and can’t be biased.

Tips

  • To draw several winners in order, tick “Remove the winner after each spin” and keep spinning.
  • Enter the same name twice to give it double the chance.
  • Press Shuffle to mix up the order on the wheel before a big draw.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen by your browser’s secure random number generator before the wheel moves, so each entry has an equal chance and the spin can’t be predicted.

How many entries can I add?

Up to 100. With many entries the labels get smaller, so short names work best.

Can I use it for a prize draw?

It’s fair and unpredictable, but official or regulated competitions may need witnesses and records — check the rules that apply to you.

Are my names saved or sent anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser and is cleared when you close the page.
