About the Background Remover
Make the background of an image transparent — or replace it with white or another colour — for product listings, logos, signatures and profile photos.
This tool removes plain, evenly coloured backgrounds (studio shots, white or green backdrops, scanned signatures) directly in your browser. Photos with busy, detailed backgrounds need AI-based removal, which this tool doesn’t attempt.
How does the Background Remover work?
Starting from the edges, it finds all connected pixels close to the background colour (within the tolerance you set) and makes them transparent, softening the edge so the cut-out blends smoothly.
Tips
- Increase tolerance if bits of background remain; decrease it if the subject is being eaten away.
- Tap a remaining patch of background to target that exact colour.
