Northvale Transport — Changes to the travel card

New cardFrom 1 July, the paper monthly pass will be replaced by the plastic Northvale Card. You can top it up online, at any station ticket machine or at selected shops. Paper passes bought before 1 July can be used until they expire.

PricesA single journey costs £2.20 with the card, compared with £2.80 when paying cash on the bus. If you travel more than four times in one day, the card automatically stops charging you, so you never pay more than £8.80 a day.

DiscountsFull-time students and people aged 60 and over can apply for a card with 30% off all journeys. Applications take up to ten working days. You will need a passport-sized photo and proof of age or student status.

Lost cardsIf you register your card online, we can cancel it and move your remaining balance to a new card if it is lost or stolen. A replacement card costs £5. Unregistered cards cannot be replaced, and any money on them will be lost.

1.Paper passes bought in June can still be used after 1 July.

2.Children under five travel free on Northvale buses.

3.Paying cash on the bus is cheaper than using the card.

4.What is the most a card user pays in one day? (£)

5.How long can a discount application take? (working days)

6.What must you do so a lost card can be replaced? (do what to your card online)
