Hybrid working: our policy
Following a successful trial, the company is adopting a hybrid working model for all office-based roles. Employees will normally work in the office on at least two fixed days each week, agreed with their line manager, and may work from home on other days. Customer-facing and warehouse roles are not covered by this policy because of the nature of the work.
The office days are intended for activities that benefit from being together: team meetings, training, planning sessions and welcoming new colleagues. Managers are asked to avoid scheduling tasks that could be done equally well at home, such as focused individual work, on office days.
Staff working from home must have a suitable workspace and a reliable internet connection. The company will provide a laptop, headset and, on request, a monitor and office chair. A one-off payment of £150 is available to help with other set-up costs; claims must be supported by receipts and made within three months of joining the scheme.
Hybrid working is a benefit, not a contractual right. Arrangements will be reviewed every six months and may be changed if business needs require it or if performance falls below the expected standard. Employees who wish to work entirely from home for a period, for example to care for a relative, should discuss this with HR, who will consider each request individually.
