Learn
Announcements (campus, class, library, events) are short and packed with information. Ask: What’s happening? Who does it affect? When/where? What should people do?
Change language: has been moved/cancelled/postponed, will now take place, instead of, until further notice, starting next week.
Required actions: must, need to, please, remember to, make sure you. These often become questions.
Note quickly: write key words — lab → Rm 204, Thu 3pm, bring goggles.
Examples
- “Tomorrow’s lecture has been moved to Hall B.”
- “Until further notice, the pool will close at 8 pm.”
- “Please make sure you bring your ID card.”

Good afternoon. This is an announcement for all library users.
Starting next Monday, the third floor will be closed for renovation until further notice. Group study rooms on that floor will move to the ground floor.
Opening hours will not change during the renovation.
If you have a room booked on the third floor, you don’t need to rebook — your booking will be moved automatically, but please check your email for the new room number.
