About the IELTS Band Score Calculator
Enter the number of questions you answered correctly in Listening and Reading (each out of 40) and your Writing and Speaking bands, and the calculator converts each to a band and works out your overall score. Choose Academic or General Training, because the two Reading tests convert differently. Already know your four bands? Switch to band scores.
It also shows your lowest skill, because many universities and visa programs set a minimum for every skill as well as the overall band.
How does the IELTS Band Score Calculator work?
Listening and Reading raw scores are converted using the widely published conversion tables. General Training Reading needs more correct answers than Academic for the same band, because its texts are less demanding.
The overall band is the average of the four skill bands, rounded to the nearest half band. An average ending in .25 rounds up to the next half band, and one ending in .75 rounds up to the next whole band.

Listening 31/40 (band 7.0), Academic Reading 29/40 (6.5), Writing 6.0, Speaking 6.5: average 6.5 → overall 6.5.
Bands 6.5, 6.5, 6.0 and 6.0: average 6.25 → rounds up to 6.5. Bands 6.5, 6.5, 5.5 and 6.0: average 6.125 → rounds down to 6.0.
