Learn
Rooms: living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, dining room, hall, garden, balcony. Types of home: a house, a flat (UK) / an apartment (US).
There is + singular: There’s a sofa in the living room. There are + plural: There are two bedrooms. Negative: There isn’t a garden. There aren’t any chairs. Question: Is there a lift? Are there any shops near here?
Prepositions of place: in (inside), on (on top of), under, next to, behind, in front of, between (two things), opposite.
Furniture: sofa, armchair, table, chair, bed, wardrobe, desk, shelf, lamp, fridge, cooker, sink, shower, bath.

Examples

A flat advert.
FLAT TO RENT — city centre. Second floor, with a lift. There are two bedrooms, a modern kitchen with a fridge and a cooker, and a bathroom with a shower. There isn’t a garden, but there’s a small balcony. The flat is opposite a park and there are shops and a bus stop near the building. €850 a month.
