Subject pronouns
Use I, you, he, she, it, we and they to talk about people and things.

Learn
A subject pronoun replaces a noun as the subject of a sentence (the person or thing that does the action).
The subject pronouns are: I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
- I — me (always a capital I)
- you — one person or many people
- he — a man or boy; she — a woman or girl
- it — a thing, an animal (usually), or a place
- we — me + other people
- they — two or more people or things
Use pronouns so you don’t repeat names: Maria is a doctor. She* works in a hospital.* (not Maria works in a hospital).
English sentences need a subject: It’s cold. (not Is cold.) · It’s raining. · It’s 5 o’clock.
They can also refer to one person when you don’t know or don’t say if they’re a man or a woman: Someone called. They left a message.

Talk about four people or things near you. Use a pronoun in the second sentence each time: “This is my brother. He is…”
Writing
Write about three people in your family. Use their name first, then a pronoun: “My sister is Lina. She is 16.”
