Learn
Places: bank, post office, supermarket, pharmacy (UK chemist’s), hospital, library, museum, park, station, airport, café, cinema, bus stop, petrol station.
Transport: car, bus, train, tram, underground (US subway / metro), taxi, bike, motorbike, plane, boat.
How you travel: by + transport (no article): by bus, by train, by car, by bike. But on foot (walking). With a specific vehicle use on / in: on the bus, on the train, in a taxi, in my car.
Ask How do you get to work? — I go by metro. / I walk. How long does it take? — It takes twenty minutes.
Examples

- We’re on the bus now!
- It takes an hour to get to the airport.
