Receptionist: Lakeside Hotel, how may I help you?

Man: Hello, I need a room for a conference next week. I’ll be arriving on Monday — sorry, Tuesday. The conference starts on Wednesday.

Receptionist: Arriving Tuesday. And how many nights?

Man: I leave on Friday morning, so three nights.

Receptionist: Would you like a single or a double room?

Man: A single is fine, but does it have a desk? I’ll need to work in the evenings.

Receptionist: Our standard singles don’t, but our business singles have a desk and a faster internet connection.

Man: The business single, then. How much is that?

Receptionist: It’s ninety-five pounds a night, or eighty-five if you book through the conference organisers.

Man: I’m paying myself, not through the conference, so ninety-five.

Receptionist: Breakfast is included and served from half past six until ten.

Man: Perfect. And is there parking?

Receptionist: Yes, free for guests, but please register your car number at reception.
