Listening Part 2: Changes at the city library

Part 2 · Multiple choice · Matching. Read the questions first, then play the recording. The transcript appears after you submit.

Good evening, and thank you for coming to hear about the changes at Central Library.

The biggest change is our opening hours. From next month we’ll open until eight on weekday evenings instead of six, but we’ll close at one on Saturdays rather than five.

The children’s section is moving from the basement to the ground floor, next to the café, so parents with buggies no longer need the lift.

The basement will become a quiet study area with forty desks. These can’t be booked — it’s first come, first served.

The computers are moving upstairs to the first floor, and printing will now be paid by card only. We won’t accept cash at the printers any more.

Finally, the loan limit is going up from ten items to fifteen, and late fees for children’s books are being removed completely.

1.What change is being made to Saturday opening?

2.Match each area with its new location.

3.How can people get a desk in the quiet study area?

4.How will people pay for printing?

5.What will the new loan limit be? (items)
