Professor: Thanks for coming in, Aisha. I’ve read your essay on renewable energy policy.
Aisha: I wasn’t sure about the structure.
Professor: Actually the structure is the strongest part — each section leads clearly to the next. The weakness is the evidence. You make several claims about costs without giving sources.
Aisha: I found the figures online but didn’t note where.
Professor: That’s a common problem. Use a reference manager from the start. Also, your conclusion introduces a new argument about nuclear power. A conclusion should draw together what you’ve already discussed.
Aisha: So I should move that into the main body?
Professor: Or remove it — it’s a big topic. And one smaller point: you use ‘very’ a lot. Try more precise adjectives.
